I noted there is an erroneous entry in the Merriam Webster Medical Dictionary.
The meaning of ‘fornix’ is given as ‘the part of conjunctiva overlying cornea’ which is incorrect.

Fornix wrongly described in Merriam Webster

Fornix

Actually conjunctiva as such does not extend to the cornea (except the epithelium).
Fornix is the area where bulbar conjunctiva meets the palpebral conjunctiva.
There are 4 areas of the fornix, superior, inferior, medial and lateral fornices

Merriam Webster must consider revision of the entry ‘fornix’.

I am using a trial version of MW MEDICAL DICTIONARY FOR S60 3RD EDITION containing 39423 entries.
